The Jam - Songs Continue to Inspire the Generations
Mod rockers The Jam are back on the road again. Sadly, however the reunion will be without Paul Weller, who was reportedly invited, but has so far declined. After a recent successful tour of the UK, Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler will be team up With Russell Hastings and David Moore who are more than just session musicians. Russell Hastings has become a very accomplished lead singer for the band, with real mastery and control over the songs, while Bruce Foxton, though, remains the band’s heartbeat. As for the songs… Do I really need to tell you at this stage? They are timeless and genius. To give one a mention, I loved singing along to "Down in the Tube Station at Midnight". The crowd seemed to be word perfect on it. In all, this was rock music as it is supposed to be - loud, poetic, frenetic... I find it hard to think of any of today’s headline acts that could still have such a loyal, rowdy, and excitable following in 25 years time. For me, the argument over whether or not they should have reformed without Paul Weller is now stone-cold dead in the ground. These guys have given me two of the best gigs that I have been to this year, or any other year for that matter, and I love them for it. The sustained cheering and applause at the end said it all really.
I personaily will be attending the gig on Saturday 15th December at Glasgow Carling Academy. My opinion from a fans point of view and review on the gig will follow.
November / December UK tour : Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler have penned new material and plan to release a new studio album in Autumn 2008.

Paul Weller - Modfather Rejects Royal Honour
British rocker Paul Weller turned down the chance to be made a commander of the British Empire (CBE) by Queen Elizabeth II. Weller privately declined the honour saying he was surprised and flattered. Mr Weller's politics have seriously faded over the last two decades or so, to the extent that he now sends his kids to private school. And this from the man who wrote 'Eton Rifles'! he may no longer be tearing down the House of Commons with his brand new shoes, but at least he hasn't knelt before the monarch, so a great big thumbs up to The Modfather.
Paul Weller Set To Release Double Album
Paul Weller is preparing to release his first double studio album, saying it was about time he produced a longer album. "I've never done one before, so I think now is a good enough time to do it really," he told BBC 6 Music. Paul, who is currently recording tracks for the first full-length since 'As Is Now' in 2005, added: "I've got a lot of ideas, a lot of songs floating around. "It's been a very creative time for me and the people I've been working with. "There's rock and roll tunes on there. There's soul and R&B type tunes. There's some psychedelic moments, some kind of acoustic folk things. A few psychedelic instrumentals - all the things I'm into, really."
